\n Academic Advisor <\/h1>\n <\/div>\n

    Generally<\/strong><\/span>
    No later than April of each academic year, the Coordinating Committee of the Graduate Studies Program randomly assigns the duties of Academic Advisor (AAS) for each newly admitted graduate student on a rotating basis to the faculty members who teach in the Graduate Studies Program.
    The number of postgraduate students is equally distributed among the teaching staff.
    A postgraduate student's AAS remains the same until the completion of their studies. In exceptional cases and upon a documented request from the postgraduate student or the AAS, a new AAS may be assigned.<\/p>\n

    Role of the Academic Advisor<\/span><\/strong>
    The ASS informs and advises postgraduate students on all of the following:
    \u27a2 The content and methods of course evaluation, participation in research methodology seminars, utilization of the Department's laboratory infrastructure, etc.
    \u27a2 The content of the compulsory and elective courses, determining the optimal sequence, minimizing failure in the exams and discussing with each postgraduate student, so that he can choose the appropriate courses according to his personal interests, skills and abilities.
    \u27a2 The choice of a topic for a master's thesis or other work.
    \u27a2 Doctoral studies (at the Department, in Greece and abroad).
    \u27a2 Professional prospects (opportunities in the public and private sectors, freelance work, jobs abroad).
    \u27a2 Any family, personal or other matter that affects studies.
    \u27a2 The services offered by the University of Thessaloniki to postgraduate students (student welfare, Student Ombudsman, DASTA, DOSYP, Philologus, Digital Support Services)<\/p>\n

    The meetings of postgraduate students with the Academic Advisors are held according to the "Regular Meeting Calendar" for the first 3 semesters of studies. However, if necessary, additional meetings are scheduled by mutual agreement between postgraduate students and the Academic Advisors throughout the duration of studies.<\/p>\n\t
